Community Service Opportunity with the Spina Bifida Association(SBA) 6/26-29/2011 Anaheim, CA

Help make the 2011 Spina Bifida Association (SBA) Annual National Conference and Kids!Camp one to remember! Volunteering is one of the best ways to get connected and learn about SBA and Spina Bifida, the most common permanently-disabling birth defect in the United States that occurs when a baby’s spine fails to close during the first few months of pregnancy.

 

Here are the volunteer positions available:

Counselor Assistants
Volunteers work staff members in the Infant/Toddler and Pre-School units to assist staff with all camp activities. Volunteers should be age 16 and older.

Nurse Runners
Volunteers transport Kids!Camp campers to and from the nurse’s station. Volunteers should be age 16 and older.

Registration Desk Workers
Volunteers assist with check in and check-out of Kids!Camp campers. Volunteers should be adults.

Group Leaders & Assistant Group Leaders for Youth
Volunteers work with staff members in the Youth unit and serve as small group leaders and assistant leaders. Volunteers should be age 16 and older.

Group Leaders & Assistant Group Leaders for Teens
Volunteers work with staff members in the Teen unit and serve as small group leaders and assistant leaders. Volunteers should be adults.

Helpers to Transfer Kids
Volunteers assist in transferring children from wheelchairs into the pool and other activity settings. Volunteers should be at least 16 and able to lift at least 50 pounds.
